WHO WE ARE?

Executive Chef Lawrence Fogarty

A native Houstonian, Chef Fogarty studied at California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and has been a chef for Neiman Marcus in both Texas and California. He joined the MainStreet America team in fall 2012 and oversees the kitchens of MAIN COURSE, MAIN Restaurant and Lawrence + Leblanc catering, which is located in the MainStreet America Park. “Having fun while cooking and entertaining have always been the cornerstone of my life, and I wanted to show other people how to achieve that same pleasure through a cooking experience at MAIN COURSE.”

Lead Chef Instructor Alejandra Davila

Chef Davila was born in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, where she attended culinary school. Upon her first bread making class, she unearthed a passion for baking and "all things sweet." She then took several cake decorating courses with the world-renowned Collette Peters, as well as a French Macaroon class with Houston’s famous pastry chef, Rebecca Masson. She owned her own specialty cake boutique for three years before moving to Houston in 2010 where she earned her AAS in specialty baking and pastry at the Culinary Institute LeNotre. While pastry is her passion, Chef Davila's knowledge of the culinary arts is not limited to the "sweet life" and she now serves as the Lead Chef Instructor for MAIN COURSE.

WHAT WE DO

MAIN COURSE provides recreational cooking experiences, both interactive and demonstrative. We have the largest hands-on cooking facility in the Houston area with availability for up to 24 guests at one time. We are also available for larger cooking events utilizing the kitchens of both MAIN COURSE and MAIN Restaurant as well as the meeting spaces of MAINSTREET AMERICA. We encourage your inquiry regarding these special events.

BEST KITCHEN IN TOWN

MAIN COURSE is located within MainStreet America. Our facility is comprised of six independent work stations featuring GE Monogram appliances including two Advantium Ovens. Outside, our summer kitchen is comprised of a wood burning pizza oven and four state-of-the-art gas burning grills/rotisseries provided by Cunningham Gas.
