TASTE THE STATES: 5 Regional Flavor Favorites to include Southwest, Northwest, Southern, New England & Hawaii

This 5-day intensive summer cooking series (Monday, June 25 - Friday, June 29)  is just what the chef ordered to develop kitchen skills to last a lifetime. Participants will gain experience through hands-on learning starting with knife skills and culminating into the creation of a gourmet meal. Whether you are interested in pursuing a culinary background or just like watching The Food Network on television, this camp will expand knowledge in an this intensive day camp.

What to Expect:

  • Ages 12-17 years old

  • Class is from 10 AM to 12 PM.

  • Class will start promptly.

Students will:

  • Work in teams of up to 4, learning basic kitchen skills from proper use of a knife, measuring, kitchen math, grilling, roasting, steaming, braising, baking, poaching and frying.

  • Stand for periods of time of up to two hours during the class.

  • Collaborate in creation of recipe led by the Chef Instructor.

  • Assist in organization of their station and working cleanly.

  • Eat what they make and critique themselves.

  • Leave with a sense of accomplishment and the recipes created in class.

More Details

This class is specifically for kids & teens, ages 12 - 17, interested in cooking. Parents and/or guardians are allowed to attend, but participation is limited to the kids, allowing them to work together, building relationships with their peers and helping them become more independent and self-assured in their culinary endeavors. Lemonade is included in the price of the class. 

Classes start promptly and last 2 hours. In this hands-on class, you will work directly with raw product to create your own meal, cooking in teams in the kitchen on commercial-style Jenn-Air® Pro-Style appliances, or outdoor cooking on The Big Green Egg™. Please dress comfortably and wear non-slip shoes. Aprons and hats will be provided for you. We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions. CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY
A refund will be issued for tickets purchased for any class up to seven (7) days prior to the class date. An exchange will be made for tickets purchased for any class up to two (2) days before the class date. No refunds or exchanges will be given for cancellations made less than two (2) days prior to the class date.
